2. Replacement Theology

Replacement Theology is the view that the church is the new or true Israel that has permanently replaced or superseded Israel as the people of God.

Whatever your view might be on Replacement Theology please read the following articles. No other theology has caused so much misery and persecution of God’s chosen people. Ignorance might in some way serve as an excuse but when we have been exposed to the truth we will be accountable before the very God that we claim to follow. Replacement Theology has been the product of twisted scriptures which has subsequently blinded believers throughout the centuries. The error of Replacement Theology is like a cancer in the Church that has not only caused it to violate God's Word concerning the Jewish people and Israel, but it made us into instruments of hate, not love in God's Name. Yet, it is not too late to change our ways and rightly relate to the Jewish people and Israel today.

3. The Holocaust

The Holocaust was a systematic, state sponsored persecution of a nation resulting in the execution of six million Jews of which one and a half million were children. The annihilations included mass deaths in concentration camps, pogroms and death marches. Many Jews in Ghettos also died of illness and hunger. Hitler’s ‘final solution’ was not only aimed at the Jewish nation, but also included other minority groups such as Gypsies, homosexuals and the disabled , as well as Christians who were labelled as ‘Jewish sympathisers’. Another tragedy of the horrors of the holocaust was the absence of the Church at this time and the silence from its pulpits. Is the Church not again blinded by an upcoming threat as Ahmadinijad of Iran repeatedly proclaims his intentions of “wiping Israel off the map?"

In Psalm 83 we are confronted by a precise, word for word fulfilment of this prophecy: "O God, do not remain quiet; do not be silent, O God,do not be still, For behold Thine enemies make an uproar; and those who hate Thee have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Thy people, and conspire together against Thy treasured ones. They have said: Come and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more."

4. The Big (untold) Story in the Middle East

In December 2001, Sheikh Ahmad al Qataani, a leading Saudi cleric, appeared on a live interview on Aljazeera satellite television to confirm that, sure enough, Muslims were turning to Jesus in alarming numbers. "In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity," Al Qataani warned. "Every day, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity.

One of the most dramatic developments is that many Muslims throughout the Middle East and even in the United States are seeing dreams and visions of Jesus. They are coming into churches explaining that they have already converted and now need a Bible and guidance on how to follow Jesus. This is in fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. The Hebrew Prophet Joel told us that "in the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days....And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." (Joel 2:28-32)

5. Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is the unlawful practice of people being removed from their homes or countries and then forced to work with none, or inferior payment on terms which are highly exploitive.

Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. People trafficking have reached epidemic proportions over the past decade, with a global annual market earning of $42.5 billion. Typical strategies for recruiting trafficking victims include coercion, deception, fraud, the abuse of power, and outright unlawful abduction. Victims of human trafficking are used in a variety of situations including prostitution, forced labour and other methods of involuntary servitude.

Is this kind of exploitation a sign of the times that we are living in, and what are the probable solutions to this human tragedy?

6. Angels

The fact that angels exist is revealed in Scripture and evidence of angelic visits from Old Testament times are carefully recorded. In the writings of Moses, the world “angel” appears 32 times. Evidence also abounds from Christ’s personal narratives, ministry and teachings that angels do exist. He spoke of holy and evil angels and He personally battled with Satan… (his angelic position before the rebellion in heaven). The combined witness of the Scriptures assure us that there is a world of intelligent, powerful, invisible creatures about and above us.

7. The Shack

One of the most popular and controversial Christian books of recent years is the fictional work by first time author William Young. Evangelical recording artist Michael W. Smith states, “The Shack will leave you craving for the presence of God.” Author Eugene Peterson believes “this book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress did for his. It’s that good!” On the other hand, seminary president Al Mohler says the book “includes undiluted heresy” and many concur. Given its popularity (number one on the New York Times bestseller list for paperback fiction), influence and mixed reviews, we need to take a careful look.

‘Since Dan Brown’s novel, The Da Vinci Code, exploded on the scene, I have been asked numerous times by interested Christians to provide evidence against the claims in the book. I have therefore written this brief special report to provide an apologetic response to the more glaring errors in Brown’s book. It will be demonstrated that when all the facts are considered, Brown’s Da Vinci Code poses no threat to historic Christianity.’ [Dr. Ron Rhodes]
