Israel and the nations

by Mike Oppenheimer

Osama bin Laden was sent to his just reward, this ends chapter one in the book of violence. How many more chapters are uncertain, we do know that this does not read like a short story. In Pres. Obama’s middle east speech “every state has the right to self-defense, and Israel must be able to defend itself -- by itself -- against any threat.

Provisions must also be robust enough to prevent a resurgence of terrorism; to stop the infiltration of weapons; and to provide effective border security. Palestinians should know the territorial outlines of their state; Israelis should know that their basic security concerns will be met (President Obama's Mideast Speech Published May 19, 2011).

Yet at the same time Pres. Obama has proposed to Pres Netanyahu that the Palestinian state should be shaped around the border lines that existed before the 1967 war in which Israel took control of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. “We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps” of land.’

While we fight a war abroad to counter terrorism it appears those in Washington do not comprehend that Israel faces this same war on their land each day; borders are a necessary protection.

The two leaders sat in the Oval Office as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flatly rejected Obama’s pro Palestinian plan. He concisely explained to the public the idea of using his country's 1967 boundaries as the basis for a Palestinian statehood as impossible. Netanyahu sitting next to Obama said “While Israel is prepared to make generous compromises for peace, it cannot go back to the 1967 lines,” “These lines are indefensible.” Further clarifying he stated: "Remember that, before 1967, Israel was all of nine miles wide,” emphasizing his words with his hands. “It was half the width of the Washington Beltway. And these were not the boundaries of peace; they were the boundaries of repeated wars, because the attack on Israel was so attractive.”

Prime minister Netanyahu “It's not going to happen. Everybody knows it's not going to happen,” he said. “And I think it's time to tell the Palestinians forthrightly it's not going to happen.”

Obama says there will be disagreements among friends but is willing to break an agreement that every president has kept between our countries. Obama trying to force Israel to give up land that is strategically important for her survival betrays our only ally in the Middle East. The land includes East Jerusalem, where the Temple Mount is located. All the sacred sites would fall into the Palestinians hands. You will not longer be able to visit them; they will be off limits like the Temple Mount is. They will be desecrated or destroyed as Muslims have done in the past. The giving up of land is addressed in Joel 3 and God punishes those who do this because of the covenant he made with Israel. This covenant is active and yet to be completed.

Netanyahu unwavering stated, “In an unstable Middle East, Israel is the one anchor of stability. In a region of shifting alliances, Israel is America's unwavering ally. Israel has always been pro-American. Israel will always be pro-American.”  The question we need to ask is: if America is pro-freedom (democracy) why are we not pro-Israel. They are the only democracy in the Middle East. The Arab spring that we are watching is not about democracy but about the unification of the Arab states to bring about new caliphate. The Arab spring will soon turn into the dead of winter.

In returning the land to pre-1967 borders acquiesces to Islam and gives them a victory in war they lost when they attacked Israel. There is far more to this than a wrong decision. The president is coming from a view point that the land involved that was won in the 1967 war is not theirs. This will bring a repeat of wars they fought, and bring them to the ultimate war for all the land; this is all part of the jihad against Israel.

The president told America’s pro-Israel lobby that “we cannot afford to wait another decade, or another two decades, or another three decades, to achieve peace.” Its becoming obvious that for Israel to exist she will have to make a treaty. I’m sure he would love to be known as the peacemaker and be the one to have a treaty made, unbeknowest to him, fulfilling Bible prophecy. To have Israel not to be recognized, their homes, streets, airport, lands of agriculture are all to be forfeited and all given to the Palestinians, and in return they get nothing except a promise of peace - we all know how that will go.

The Bible mentions Jerusalem nearly 800 times and is specific on whose city and land it is, the God of Israel. Yahweh is called “the God of Israel NOT the God of Ishmael. The Arabs believe they were there even before Mohammed’s time. How can this be? Because they believe that Abraham and Moses were Muslims and as Jews trace their lineage to them so do the Arab Muslims. But they purposely do not call the land Israel because that identifies it with the Jews, so it is called Palestine which was originally coined after Israel’s enemy, the Philistines. Yet the name Israel is in the Qu’ran 40 times (not always well spoken). In Surah 2:40: “O Children of Israel! call to mind the (special) favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me as I fulfil My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me.” Notice what it says they have special favor and God will fulfill his covenant.

It is only after Israel’s rebirth that Jerusalem became especially sacred to Muslims. Why do they think Jerusalem is theirs when the Qu’ran does not mention it? After Mohammed, Caliph Omar conquered Jerusalem from the Byzantine Romans in the 7th century and brought Muslim rule over the territory, they call it Waqf land. Meaning, this became their land and no one else’s. This is what they think of any land they have conquered. The same standard they apply to Israel is what they want to apply to Europe.

We are watching this attitude of the nations being developed. God tells us in the last days He would cause Jerusalem to be “a burdensome stone for all people” (Zech. 12:3). How? It began by Israel being regathered back into the original land of their ancestors God gave them. Proving “gifts and calling...are without repentance” (Rom 11:29).

It was prophesied Israel would regain the city of Jerusalem, this happened in the 1967 war. Israel has not been the aggressor once as they inherited portions of land from a war. Then they were attacked again in 1973, and now have an ongoing war, the intifada since the year 2,000. So far, every time Israel is attacked their land expands, but they have never received all the land promised in Genesis (Gen. 15:18; 17:7-8). This will happen in the Millennium when the Messiah resides in rulership over the world from Jerusalem.

Hitler massacred 6 million out of the 9 million plus Jews in the world at the time. The Jews are the only people in history that have kept their national identity as a nation dispersed all over the world. After 1,800 years the UN gave 18 percent of the land of Palestine, mostly desert, to Jewish settlers to create a small state for a settlement of the survivors of Hitler's holocaust. The Arabs were given 82 percent of Palestine as a state of their own. So whose to blame for them not having their own state?

If we break it down: there are 22 Arab League countries have 6,145,389 square miles. By comparison, all 50 states of the United States have a total of 3,787,318 SM. Israel has 8,463 SM, about one-sixth of that of the State of Michigan. World Arab population: 300 million; World Jewish population: 13.6 million; Israel's Jewish population: 5.4 million (posted on think Israel).
Benjamin Netanyahu told Congress that militant Islam is threatening the world. The world is blinded to the aggressiveness of their religions goals that are stated in their books and history. So are we in America, we don’t want to believe a repeat of the Natzis can happen. But Hitler’s solution is esteemed among the Muslims, we must pay attention.

In 1998, Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, a Sufi leader, visited 114 mosques in the United States. Then he gave testimony before a State Department Open Forum in January 1999, and asserted that 80% of American mosques taught the “extremist ideology.”

Then there was the Center for Religious Freedom's 2005 study, and the Mapping Sharia Project's 2008 study. Each independently showed that upwards of 80% of mosques in America were preaching hatred of Jews and Christians and the necessity ultimately to impose Islamic rule.

And now comes yet more confirmation that mosques in the U.S. are teaching these things, and again the percentage is remarkably similar: around 80% of mosques are found to be teaching jihad warfare and Islamic supremacism. Jihad watch says “This study is extensive and detailed. Look over all the data. Above all, call upon your elected officials and the media to take notice -- at very least, to ask pointed questions from local mosque leaders about the books they're using and what they're teaching in general. Call on them to require honest, verifiable answers.  (“Shari'a and Violence in American Mosques,” by Mordechai Kedar and David Yerushalmi in Middle East Quarterly, Summer 2011:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/06/mordechai-kedar-and-david-yerushalmi-new-study-shows-that-only-19-of-mosques-in-us-dont-teach-jihad.html

So what does this all mean? As suspected, there is a concerted effort to establish Islam to America. This would mean challenging the constitution with Sharia being allowed and eventually supersede it.

Some have complained that we give Israel too much money. We give many nations support in the interest of peace and trade. Israel received $2.8 billion in 2010.  The U.S. government has committed more than $3.8 billion in bilateral economic assistance to the Palestinians, of which more than $2.3 billion has been provided since FY2004.

Egypt get 2 billion a year mostly in military aid and our administration now wants to double it, even though it is obvious the Muslim brotherhood has taken charge. Jordan - $660 million in annual foreign assistance to Jordan over a 5 year period. Total U.S. aid to Jordan through FY2010 amounted to approximately $11.38 billion (842 million yearly). According to the U.S. State Department the Obama Administration is seeking $246.3 million in total aid for Lebanon. Saudi Arabia - 208 million -Yemen 67 million -Bahrain 28 million -Kuwait 16 million - United Arab Emerites 248 million - Gatar 10 million -Oman 15 million - Pakistan 4 Billion -Afghanistan 10 billion. source: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/mideast/RL32260.pdf [other sources used]

If we are going to end aid to Israel its only fair we end it to all these other countries that exceed her aid. But then this would bring complete instability to the region. But why do some of these rich oil producing countries get aid?
Apparently Syria paid for Anti-Israel rioters ($1,000) to break through the border fence in their reenactment of “Nakba Day” (and $10,000 to their families if they are killed by IDF fire). Which commemorates the day Israel became a state as the” day of the catastrophe.” Their intent is to mount pressure on Israel and diminish her standing in the world. Anti Semitism is growing throughout the world mainly because of Islam’s portrayal of them being aggressors squatters and destroyers, the very things they themselves are actively doing.

Is anti-Semitism getting a start in San Francisco? Many say yes. This liberal city will be voting this November on whether or not to ban circumcision in its city. Circumcision on male babies is part of the Jewish covenant which they are trying to outlaw. This particular section can be vulgar to some. The publication of the campaign literature for the upcoming circumcision ban is a comic book, called “Foreskin Man,” after its baby-saving superhero, features a litany of evil Jews doing battle with blond Nordic saviors. Meanwhile across the ocean in the middle east some are wondering if Islam is going nuclear? Vienna – The State Department said Wednesday that the international community has “very real concerns” about Syria's nuclear program, as the United States and its allies try to formally report the country's nuclear “noncompliance” to the U.N. Security Council U.S. and allies move to report Syria to U.N. Security Council for non-compliance on nuke program.

Are we going to see a repeat process that we saw with Iraq between Iran, Syria and the United Nations?  Will they get a scolding from a U.N. resolution and sanctions, allowing them to keep working on the bomb?

Ynet News (Israeli) reports Tehran could have enough for its first bomb within eight weeks, despite reports of setbacks in its nuclear program, the Iranian regime is steadily progressing towards a bomb. Iran plans to triple its output of the higher enriched uranium. Unfortunately, Jones says, there is nothing the US can do to stop Tehran, short of military occupation.

This would change the current situation from dangerous to severe. With Iran possessing this it can affect the whole middle east not just Israel.

Karl Marx had it wrong - it’s not religion that is the opiate of the people but a certain religion. For those who live and breathe Islam it encompasses everything they do. It separates them from humanity on various levels. We should have learned we can’t change the middle east region dominated by Islam unless their religion changes. Islam is a religious black hole sucking all the surrounding light out by extinguishing freedom and trying to prevent Christ and his gospel of love to come to their nations.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com  reports that Hamas has record turnouts for its summer camps for children. This is one of many places their Islamic indoctrination is promoted to their children.

The “Mohammed’s” of Islam all seem to follow in his radical footsteps, eliminating any contrary opinions.  The cartoon “South Park” is often offensive. The show often makes fun of various religions, political leaders and celebrities.  But, the show’s portrayal of the Prophet Mohammad had two young Muslim men react not in peace (Zachary Adam Chesser and  Jesse Curtis Morton). According to CNN, back in February, Chesser, 21, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for posting threats online.  They were enraged over “South Park’s” portrayal of Mohammad in a bear suit, Chesser encouraged jihadists to go after the show’s writers.  He posted the writers’ address, asking readers to “pay them a visit.”

Now, a criminal complaint along the same lines has been issues against Morton (who also goes by the name Younus Abdullah Mohammad): In an affidavit accompanying the recent complaint against Morton, FBI special agent Paula R. Menges said Morton, co-founder of the group called Revolution Muslim, worked with Chesser on a “clarification statement” after Chesser’s postings. The pair made website postings that were — despite their claims — threats, Menges said.

The agent also contends the statement contained pages of justification under Islamic law for the death of those who insult Islam or defame its prophet.
Unfortunately, Morton is believed to be in Morocco where he runs a website that touts pro al-Qaeda content.  Authorities claim that they’ll arrest Morton should he come back to the U.S. or travel to a nation that has accommodating extradition policies.  Below, watch CNN’s Anderson Cooper explain this bizarre situation.  In the video, Morton (in a 2009 interview) says that Muslims are “…commanded to terrorize the disbelievers.”

This is not an isolated story but is repeated over and over in numerous countries. Islam does not tolerate people saying anything negative about it. The fact that the majority of Christians see Islam’s portrayal of Jesus as offensive is inconsequential. They deny he is a Jew, deny he died for sin,  and only call him a prophet instead of whom he claimed to be, the Son of God.

This promise of God is a two edge sword:
When God made the promise to Abraham in Genesis 12 it was not just about the land but about the people, the Jews (Heb.6:14).
Gen. 12:2-3: To Abraham “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Gen. 22:18 “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” That seed was Christ Jesus.

Gen. 25:11 “And it came to pass, after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer Lahai Roi.”

Islam’s aggressive anger is about the people, not just the LAND. It is spiritually motivated. We should be careful not to be found on the same side as the spirit of the age gathers people against Israel. As God blessed, we too are to be a blessing the people, the Jews, whom God took from a pagan people to form a nation that would worship him correctly, that would have the oracles, that would bring us the Messiah (Rom.15:27).

Love keeps a commitment- we are told to love all people but especially the Jewish people from whom the new covenant came to the gentiles (Gal.3:14). Why are there so many churches taking the position they are Israel, that God has forsaken the Jews (Israel) when the Bible (Rom.11:17-28) is explicit that this is not the case.  Rom. 11:29-32 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

Would this not apply to those churches who consider themselves a replacement for Israel? James 3:14-16 “But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”

1 Cor 14:33: “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”

When Christian’s side with the Palestinians and Islam to take the land they are unknowingly standing against God and his covenant promise to the people of Israel, His glory. One must decide whom they are for, good or evil; in siding with either Israel or the Palestinians. Because of the popular belief that the church has replaced Israel, (insinuating directly or subtly that God is no longer involved with them) we have a growing anti Israel view being promoted.  Churches that side with a rebellious people, the Palestinians (Hamas), that oppose a peaceful co-existence with Israel, will experience God’s promise in Gen.12.

Netanyahu at AIPAC Israel made it clear Israel is not the problem in the middle east. Putting aside Israel’s biblical right – Israel is the only nation in this area that has freedom like the US. So if we do not back them then we are betraying our own principles of government based on freedom.

There is only one nation and one people God gave a land to, and this is currently the greatest controversy in the world. Christians that deny the prophetic significance of Middle East events and oppose Israel, sympathize with persecutors who are haters of the Jewish people are in for a rude awakening.  Satan knows the Jews must be in Jerusalem for Christ to return (Matthew 23: 37-39, Luke 21:24, Zechariah 12:1-10). This why we are watching a coalition to unite the Arab countries to eliminate Israel.

When we add up all the things taking place we are in unique, exciting and dangerous times. Over the years the church has been warned of a storm coming by various descriptions, a tsunami, hurricane force winds etc. whatever description was used of this trial -- it is here. The church needs to step up and stand for what is right, let her voice be united in God’s word for Christ and the gospel sake.We need to speak while we still have a voice.
