Richard Dawkins is making the news again: he has unveiled his plans to publish another book aimed at promoting atheism to children.

The human brain, and any animal brain for that matter, is an engineering marvel that evokes comments from researchers like “beyond anything they’d imagined, almost to the point of being beyond belief” and “a world we had never imagined.

Although evolutionary scientists insist there is no evidence for the global, Earth-destroying Flood described in Genesis, accepting the Genesis Flood as literal history enables researchers to make sense of a wide array of geological, climatic, and cultural data.

Having to prove the existence of God to an atheist is like having to prove the existence of the sun, at noon on a clear day. Yet millions are embracing the foolishness of atheism. “The Atheist Delusion” pulls back the curtain and reveals what is going on in the mind of those who deny the obvious.

The theory of evolution is false.  It is simply not true.  Actually, it is just a fairy tale for adults based on ancient pagan religious philosophy that hundreds of millions of people around the world choose to believe with blind faith.  When asked to produce evidence for the theory of evolution, most adults in the western world come up totally blank.  When pressed, most people will mumble something about how “most scientists believe it” and how that is good enough for them.

Do science and God mix? It has become accepted wisdom that science and religion represent two incompatible ways of viewing the world. John Lennox, however, is a mathematician from Oxford and a Christian. In this discussion, John Lennox sets out to show us how this is not the case.

The fact that God commanded the killing of entire nations in the Old Testament has been the subject of harsh criticism from opponents of Christianity for some time. That there was violence in the Old Testament is indisputable. The question is whether Old Testament violence is justifiable and condoned by God.

The God of the Bible demonstrates that He is the Creator by demonstrating that He exists outside of our dimension of time. We humans are irreversibly trapped in this time domain and can only know the present and the past. It is impossible, under natural circumstances, to know anything that is in the future of our time line.

Ever since scientific archaeology started a century and a half ago, the consistent pattern has been this: the hard evidence from the ground has borne out the biblical record again and again — and again. The Bible has nothing to fear from the spade.

The excessive scepticism shown toward the Bible by important historical schools of the eighteenth-and-nineteenth centuries, certain phases of which still appear periodically, has been progressively discredited. Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition to the value of the Bible as a source of history – W.R. Albright

Is the Bible really full of contradictions as some claim?  Or are there reasonable explanations for these textual difficulties that can maintain the Bible’s credibility and authority? Let’s take a look.

Bible critics have been proven wrong a thousand times, and in most cases this hasn’t humbled them or changed their opinion toward Scripture. Christian apologetics is a spiritual battle rather than an intellectual one. Following are a few of the glaring errors that have been made by critics who have tried to disprove the Bible.

Belief in evolution is a remarkable phenomenon. It is a belief passionately defended by the scientific establishment, despite the lack of any observable scientific evidence for macroevolution (that is, evolution from one distinct kind of organism into another). This odd situation is briefly documented here by citing recent statements from leading evolutionists admitting their lack of proof. These statements inadvertently show that evolution on any significant scale does not occur at present, and never happened in the past, and could never happen at all.

Each component of a living cell is breathtakingly complex, yet in isolation it cannot survive nor replicate itself. All the parts of the cell are necessary to its functioning and replication. Nothing works until everything works. This has been called irreducible complexity.

As scientists explore a new universe - the universe inside the cell - they are making startling discoveries of information systems more complex than anything ever devised by humanity's best minds. How did they get there, and what does it mean for the theory of evolution?

Strong evidence for a Designer comes from the fine-tuning of the universal constants and the solar system.

Is there evidence of God’s existence inherent in the universe, solar system, earth and the human body? Are there marks of intelligent design all around us? Let’s look at the incredible complexity and precision that exists and see if it demonstrates the work of blind chance (evolution) or intelligent design.

by Rich Deem

Does science lead us down a road that ends in the naturalistic explanation of everything we see? In the nineteenth century, it certainly looked as though science was going in that direction.  However, 20th century and now 21st century science is leading us back down the road of design - not from a lack of scientific explanation, but from scientific explanation that requires an appeal to the extremely unlikely - something that science does not deal well with.

In 1966 Time magazine ran a cover story asking: Is God Dead? Many have accepted the cultural narrative that he’s obsolete—that as science progresses, there is less need for a “God” to explain the universe. Yet it turns out that the rumors of God’s death were premature. More amazing is that the relatively recent case for his existence comes from a surprising place - science itself.

The common assumption that science contradicts religion can be illustrated either from your own personal experience, if this is relevant, or by quoting the words of atheistic scientists, philosophers or journalists. Richard Dawkins, for example, has described the idea of God as “a very naïve, childish concept”, and similar comments have been made by many other Darwinian scientists.

Christians frequently run into the argument that “The Bible can’t be trusted because it has miracles, and they are clearly not possible because science doesn’t accept the miraculous.” How should believers respond?

This question is a major objection that atheists put forward to justify their disbelief.

When we speak of God's attributes, we are talking about those characteristics that helps us to understand who He truly is. That which follows is a thorough, yet incomplete list and summary of His attributes.

The doctrine of the Trinity is foundational to the Christian faith. It is crucial for properly understanding what God is like, how He relates to us, and how we should relate to Him. But it also raises many difficult questions. How can God be both one and three? Is the Trinity a contradiction? If Jesus is God, why do the Gospels record instances where He prayed to God?

Non-Christians sometimes assert that God is portrayed in the Old Testament as a cruel and ruthless deity that indiscriminately orders the execution of seemingly innocent men, women, and children, or directly carries out their deaths by various means. Such a God, the argument goes, in no way represents the loving Creator or Father figure that the New Testament offers and should in no way be worshipped or venerated.

As doctors we are exposed to suffering in a unique way. For us, it is not something that just happens on a television screen to people we neither know nor meet. We grapple with it in our patients each day. Unless we want to insulate ourselves by becoming cynical and detached, we need to learn to cope with it and understand it. Suffering asks deep questions of us as Christians - not least 'Why does it exist at all?'

Jesus Christ is God (YHVH) in the flesh. Indeed, to say Jesus Christ is Lord, is to confess Him as God.  According to the New Testament, salvation is experienced only by changing your mind and personally trusting that Jesus was executed as atonement for your sins, that He was physically pronounced dead and buried, and that He was raised from the dead in vindication of His glory and to function as our High Priest in heaven. There is no other Mediator before the Father and no other Name given to mankind for salvation.

Mathematically speaking, the odds of anyone fulfilling this amount of prophecy are staggering. Mathematicians put it this way:

1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000 1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power 1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: Only Jesus!  It is the magnificent detail of these prophecies that mark the Bible as the inspired Word of God. Only God could foreknow and accomplish all that was written about the Christ. This historical accuracy and reliability sets the Bible apart from any other book or record.

Easter is just around the corner, that time each year when Christians celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus.  It makes for an interesting - and quite incredible - story.  Skeptics down through the ages have attempted to disprove it, directing their fire at the key pieces of the story:  Jesus’ death by crucifixion; His burial in a tomb; and various elements related to the resurrection itself.

by Bringing Truth

Among skeptics today, this is one of the most popular objections to Jesus. They say the story of Jesus is merely a copycat myth based on many ancient pagan religious "gods", like Horus, Mithras, Osiris, Dionysis etc. They even go as far as to say that it is doubtful that Jesus even existed! The idea here is by comparing similarities of these individuals we can draw the conclusion that the one who came after is simply a copycat.

Why do I believe that God exists and Christianity to be the only true religion? Why do I not accept the popular idea that one religion or philosophical worldview is just as good as another? These are important questions that deserve rational answers.

by Matt Slick

Some people say it is arrogant for Christians to claim that they alone are going to Heaven.  But is it really arrogance?  Arrogance is a negative display of superiority and/or self-importance, but true Christians are not claiming superiority or self-importance.  They claim that trust in Christ alone is what forgives them of their sins, and that all who trust in him can be forgiven as well.  This is not arrogance.  It is confidence in the work of Christ who sacrificed himself on the cross.

by Following Jesus Christ

In many churches today there seems to be an inordinate emphasis on the beautiful gift of salvation by grace alone, and yet there is so little teaching on the corresponding doctrines of obedience and fruit bearing through the spirit.

The new atheists are not presenting new arguments; however, their method of promoting their ideas very aggressively with strong, confrontational, and condemning language is unique. They have gained a following amongst the young academic crowd, and they have been quite influential in public education. Some of the notable atheists who have written popular works include Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Dan Barker, and Christopher Hitchens.

Answer: In order to understand absolute or universal truth, we must begin by defining truth. Truth, according to the dictionary, is “conformity to fact or actuality; a statement proven to be or accepted as true.” Some people would say that there is no true reality, only perceptions and opinions. Others would argue that there must be some absolute reality or truth.

by Bringing Truth

My first inclination is to agree with this statement. Before I do, let's determine what is meant by the word "Church". If you are saying that inside the church building on any given Sunday there are lots of hypocrites, I would tend to agree with you.

We believe in the One almighty God, who has revealed Himself through His Word as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6-7

“Christianity is just a psychological crutch!” This is one of a group of common accusations framed against Christianity, which is why it is so important to examine and distinguish if there's any truth in it. Is Christianity just a crutch for the weak, unintelligent and scared, or is it far more than that?
